Dr. LanYe' is a highly regarded
performing musician.
She is a lecture-recitalist whose specialty is Black Classical Music.
This lyric mezzo-soprano and noted composer is also
a recognized authority on
American Spirituals.
She is widely known for her voice master classes.
She is a truly gifted classical/jazz pianist,
orchestral conductor and
choral director.
Her opera, "HIGHWAY TO CANAAN," the touching story about a perilous
trip via The Underground Railroad in 1851.............
had its world premiere in July, 2011, and a critically acclaimed performance
in October, 2012.
BIOGRAPHY:
Child Prodigy-born with perfect pitch.
-played piano at age two.
-composed (written out) first piano piece
at age five.
-perfect score on city-wide music test in
the 5th grade.
-became concert-mistress (violin) of the
all-city youth orchestra in the 6th grade.
-church choir director at age 15.
