The Winning Prize....
To present a recital at illustrious "Severance Hall,"
home of the renowned Cleveland Orchestra.
The winner will be joined by Dr. LanYe', piano, and
Eliesha Nelson, violist with The Cleveland Orchestra.
It will take place on January 21st, as part of the
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.
The appearance comes under the auspices of
The Cleveland Orchestra
Education and Community Engagement Department.

**Contestants will sing two spirituals, one unaccompanied
and one accompanied.
(A piano accompanist will be provided)
The accompanied spiritual MUST come ONLY from the
collections and anthologies of the following four
J. Rosamond Johnson
R. Nathaniel Dett
No exceptions will be considered.
If a submission includes a spiritual arranged by an
unauthorized composer, the person will be disqualified.
The unaccompanied spiritual should be as close to the most
original-authentic-simple version possible, with no extraneous
