American Spirituals Voice Competition - Dr. J  LanYe'--Creator/Organizer/Coordinator
 Dr. LanYé is a highly regarded performing scholar/musician. 
She is a lecture-recitalist whose specialty is Black Classical Music.
This fine lyric mezzo-soprano and noted composer is also
a recognized authority on American Spirituals. 
She is widely known for her voice master classes.
She is a truly gifted classical and jazz pianist, 
orchestral conductor and choral director.    
Her opera, "HIGHWAY TO CANAAN,"  the touching story about a perilous
trip via The Underground Railroad in 1851.............
had its world premiere, July, 2011, a critically acclaimed performance, October, 2012, a condensed version,
April, 2016, and a special production, July, 2018.
Dr. LanYé successfully launched her new opera company............
